The Black Friday Book Sale is back! (Plus Book News)

26 November 2025

It's November!

Once again, happy Thanksgiving to the Americans and Happy Book Sales to everyone else, because I can't be bothered to segregate my mailing list by location. It's probably a little early since you're still having turkey, but I have just had my first mince pie of the season.

The Absolution books are on sale at $0.99 from Black Friday to Cyber Monday (28 Nov - 1 Dec). Click on the graphics to get to the sales page!

OR click the black button below to get too ALL THE SALES AND FREE EBOOKS!

All the books in the sale are rated Mild+ at most according to Book Cave's ratings, so if you're planning to snag ebooks for younger readers or you're picky about the content you read, the sales page gives an indication of what to expect.

THAT'S NOT ALL

Moriah pinged me to join her specially curated The Picky Readers Holiday List from 1 to 7 Dec, which means that Amok will continue to be on sale at $0.99 until 7 Dec, while the other two books will go up to $2.99 from 2 - 7 Dec before returning to full price.

I have not actually read any of these others yet, but they sure sound good!

So reminder: sales are happening 28 November all the way to 7 December!

New Book Alert!

So, I said in my last newsletter (in Sept!!) that I had good book news to announce... and then I didn't write a next newsletter. LOL.

Well, I finally wrote a newsletter so here's the announcement:

I FINALLY SOLD THE TEA NOVEL!!!

Which, I'm sure, potentially sounds like, wait, what, what do you mean you "sold" it? You sell books all the time!

To clarify:

Jasmine and the Perfect Brew will be published by Watchful Wizard Publishing!

We don't have an exact release date yet, but we're currently targetting Fall 2026. Don't worry, I'll remind you about it when the time comes.

I do have another Tea Advent Calendar this year, so maybe I'll drop some snippets/info/whatever on Instagram while I'm doing that.

~

I'm going to be out this weekend at the George Town Literary Festival, so if you're in town, come say hi. :)

See you next time!

23 May 2025 Prices schmices If you've been following book news lately, you'll have heard that Amazon KDP is reducing their royalties for paperbacks sold under $9.99. Three of my books are caught under this: The Painted Hall Collection ($6.99) Coexist ($6.99) Dongeng ($8.99) Amazon has notified me that I'll be earning 0 on these books if I don't adjust the price by their deadline of 10 June... :( Since I have to adjust the prices anyway, I'm planning on doing a complete price restructuring as...

4 February 2024 Happy Birthday, everybody! According to tradition, the 7th day of Chinese New Year is everybody's birthday. Which... is just an excuse for me to send another sporadic newsletter because I skipped all the other big days. But hey, here's your excuse to eat more cake. Or have a party. Chinese New Year decorations at Armenian Park, Penang, along with random passersby. Looking for Beta Readers As part of my glacial revamping efforts, I've been working on a new story that I'd like...
